Lagunen Beach Club – for older children
Dyreparken is using a completely new and undeveloped area, and making it specially adapted for
older children. Lagunen Beach Club will be part of Badelandet, but will be located on the other
side of the Sea of Grass. Here, children can frolic in a gigantic obstacle course on the water that measures
as much as 15×45 meters. On land, there will be several other cool activities, a DJ and a great
summer atmosphere.

For easy and short access to the new area, a bridge will be built from Badelandet over to
Lagunen Beach Club.

Lagunen Beach Club opened in June 2022. Read more about Lagunen Beach club:

The savannah has doubled in size

In 2022, we broke ground for a significant expansion of the Savannah in the Africa area.
The work is the start of what will be a completely new entrance area.
The Savannah will give the animals almost twice as much room to roam, and our guests will be able to look into
the Savannah even before they have entered the Zoo.

New performance by Circus Jesper
Elleville Circus Jesper was seen by over 18,000 spectators last summer. At the circus, you
meet professional circus artists from different parts of the world in a heart-warming and fun
family show. In the summer of 2022, we will stage a new production with surprises,
spectacular acts, famous characters from Cardamom Town and lots of music and fun.
The performance period is from 18. June to 14. August, and takes place inside the circus tent on the festival square just
opposite Cardamom Town. Read more about Circus Jesper:

Digital experience in Cardamom Town Film Studio
For the first time in the zoo’s history, guests can experience a combination of actors and
digital characters in a new experience in Cardamom Town Film Studio. Here you can, among other things,
meet a digital police chief Bastian, who speaks to you. The models used for the filming of
the feature film People and Robbers in Cardamom Town will remain, and together with Aunt Sofie and the digital version of Chief Constable Bastian, the audience will be taken even further behind the scenes of the film, which premieres next year.

Animal cubs
Last autumn, three Amur tiger cubs and one chimpanzee cub were born in the park following recommendations
from the international conservation programs that the species are part of. The cubs are very
important to ensure a healthy population of the species in the future.

The chimpanzee cub is also an important addition that will bring life and excitement to the monkey herd in the zoo.
The Amur tiger is critically endangered. In the 1940s, there were only 20-30 tigers left in the wild.
Conservation projects have led to an increase in numbers, and today there are 400-500 tigers in the wild.
Chimpanzees are unfortunately severely threatened on the IUCN Red List. The main threats are destruction of
habitats, hunting, trapping and sale as pets. In the 1900s, there were approx. two million
chimpanzees in the world. Today there are only 170,000 – 300,000 chimpanzees left.
