Frequently Asked Questions

We get a lot of questions from our participants. To make it as easy as possible for you to get answers to your questions, we have written down some of the most common ones here.

Question: When is the match setup ready?
Answer: We aim to publish the match schedule approx. 14 days before the start of the tournament. However, there may be changes to the match schedule right up to the start of the cup, and we therefore recommend that you download the Sør Cup app to stay up to date. The team will be informed if there are any changes after the Friday before the start of the tournament.

Question: When will the overview of where we will live be available?
Answer: The overview of where the teams will stay will be ready approx. three weeks before the start of the tournament.

Question: How many players can participate?
Answer: Unlimited.

Question: When is the deadline for player registration?
Answer: The deadline for player registration is Friday the day before the start of the cup at. 12.00.

Question: Can you re-register players?
Answer: Yes, please contact the tournament manager via the form below.

Question: A player has withdrawn, can we get a refund of the participation fee?
Answer: Yes. As long as it is reported before arrival, in the registration system Cup Manager or directly to the general manager. Ole Gerhard Sørensen.

Question: Is it allowed to have overage players?
Answer: In 5’s it is allowed with 1 overage player. In 7’s, 9’s and 11’s, 2 overage players are allowed in the squad. Both can play at the same time. The prerequisite is that they play for the team on a regular basis and that they do not play for teams in their own age group in league play. See our rules for complete information

Question: Is it allowed to use players from other clubs?
Answer: No, it is not. The player must be eligible to play for the club they are participating for.

Question: Can a player participate on multiple teams in the same class?
Answer: No.

Question: Can a player participate in multiple classes?
Answer: Yes. For example, a player can play for Fløy G13 (9’er) and G13-7. The team manager is responsible for ensuring that both teams have enough players in case the matches clash.

Question: When is the deadline for registration and payment?
Answer: The deadline for registration and payment is 1. May. See also our guidelines for payment.

Question: What is the difference between the different types of cards?
Answer: A-cards are for those who want to stay at the school (and similar) and eat at our premises. B-cards include everything an A-card includes, excluding accommodation and meals. «No card» only includes the right to participate in the tournament. Question: Can family and friends take advantage of the participant card offer?
Answer: Yes. They are ordered together with participants and team leaders.

Question: Is it possible for people other than the participants to buy a ticket for the cup show?
Answer: Yes. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance and cost NOK 150.

Question: Can family and siblings buy Dyreparken tickets?
Answer: Yes, everyone who is in Southern Norway in connection with Sør Cup can buy tickets via Sør Cup.

Question: When are the finals played?
Answer: The finals in the Star Class will be played on Sunday. The finals in the J13-7, G13-7, J14-9 and G14-9 categories will be played on Tuesday. Other finals will be played on Wednesday. See complete overview of the finals setup.

Question: What accommodation options are there for those who do not want to stay at school?
Answer: We have agreements with several hotels and accommodations. See a complete overview on our accommodation pages.

Question: One of the participants has a food allergy. Can he eat the food during the cup?
Answer: Yes, we have special arrangements for participants with food allergies. Participants must notify us in advance of the cup so that we can order food.

Question: Is there pork in any of the dinners?
Answer: No, we have taken this into account when selecting our dinner dishes.

Question: Do we offer halal meat dinners?
Answer: No, unfortunately we don’t have enough knowledge to be able to offer that.

Question: Where should we meet to receive our participant card?
Answer: A representative from the team must check in the team upon arrival. Teams in the classes 10-12 years check in at Flekkerøyhallen on Flekkerøy, teams in the 13-14 years classes check in at Moseidmoen in Vennesla and teams in the 15-19 years classes check in at Kristiansand Katedralskole Gimle.

Question: You state that «The finals from Sparebanken Sør Arena are broadcast live on Fædrelandsvennen’s online TV». Is this an open broadcast or do you have to be a subscriber?
Answer: This is a subscription service. See fvn.no for promotions and offers.

Question: Our first match is at Karuss on Saturday and we’re staying overnight at Flekkerøy – is it a long way between these places, how long a drive/walking time do we need to allow for? do we need to add and are there buses?
Answer: Karuss is located in Vågsbygd, about 5-6 minutes from Flekkerøytunnelen towards Kristiansand. There is a cup bus to Karuss.
